SANTA BARBARA, CA — Santa Barbara based Inogen, Inc., manufacturers of the revolutionary Inogen One, announced today that Joseph Lewarski, RRT, has been named Vice President of Clinical Affairs. Lewarski is highly respected throughout the homecare industry for his leadership skills, clinical expertise and contributions to advancing the treatment of respiratory diseases.
"The addition of Joe Lewarski to our executive team is continuing evidence of our commitment to clinical excellence", said Kathy Odell, CEO of Inogen. "We see a tremendous opportunity to leverage Joe's clinical experience against our expertise in research and development to continue the development of innovative, cost effective solutions that address the needs of both patients and providers." In addition to Lewarski, Inogen has already assembled a team of experienced health care entrepreneurs, skilled technologists, well known clinicians and home healthcare veterans to develop innovative solutions to respiratory home healthcare challenges.
"I'm extremely honored and excited to become part of the Inogen team", said Lewarski. "The combination of highly innovative technology, superior leadership, a brilliant R&D team and a collection of individuals dedicated to excellence is a recipe for success" he adds. "The development of a position such as this to serve as a corporate interface with health care professionals and industry groups truly demonstrates Inogen's commitment to providers, clinicians and patients. I'm energized by the opportunity to use my many years of experience in respiratory therapy, homecare and business to provide technical and clinical input to current and future Inogen products. Emphasizing the clinical, operational and economic needs of customers is something I feel uniquely qualified to offer" Lewarski shared.
In addition to his interaction with members of the homecare industry, Lewarski will interface with physicians, professional medical associations and government health care groups to help promote and advance home respiratory care and medical services. Lewarski, a sought after lecturer and contributing author to industry publications, has been a pioneer in homecare research and authored more than twenty clinical and peerreviewed articles. He is currently the AARC Homecare Section Chair, serves on the board of AARC, is a member of the Homecare Network Steering Committee of the ACCP, serves on a number of committees within AAHomecare and was recently named to JCAHO's Home Care Advisory Committee for Home Medical Equipment. Timing couldn't have been better for Inogen, who is beginning to ship the Inogen One this month. "This is a very, very exciting month for us", concluded Odell.
